#TEZPUR UNIVERSITY ADMISSION PROCESS
Tezpur University is a Central University located in Tezpur in the North-Eastern state of Assam, India by an act in Parliament of India in 1994. It is a non-affiliating and residential Central University. The University has a variety of UG, PG, Ph.D., Diploma and Certificate courses in various departments in many disciplines and their specializations. The academic programs offered in the University have a distinct focus on science, technology, and humanities, reflecting the objective of the University. Tezpur University Admissions to all courses is based on an entrance exam which is conducted by the university itself. The university also accepts JEE Main for B.Tech admission, CAT / MAT for MBA admission and GATE for M.Tech admission.
Tezpur University Admission 2020: B.Tech & Ph.D. Admission, Entrance Exam
Tezpur University was established in the year 1994. It has a variety of UG, PG, Ph.D., Diploma and Certificate courses in various departments. The admission process begins in the month of March every year. Tezpur University offers admission to various UG, PG & Research programs under four categories.
- Admission on the basis of Online University Entrance Examination: Admission to integrated BA, B.Sc, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MA, M.Sc, M.Tech, MTTM, B.Ed programs.
- Admission on the basis of All India Rank (AIR): B.Tech admission is based on the score in JEE Main followed by central counselling.
- Direct Admission: Tezpur University offers direct admission to the students securing top 10 positions with 80% marks in aggregate in the board examinations of North Eastern (NE) states. Direct admission is also offered in B.Tech program to the top 5 position holders of NE state board with 85% marks. GATE qualified candidates are eligible for direct admission to M.Tech course.
- Ph.D. Admission: To secure admission in the Ph.D. program, candidates have to appear in an online test followed by an interview. UGC/CSIR JRF-NET qualified candidates have to appear only in the interview round.
- CAT/ MAT/ GMAT or CMAT qualified candidates are eligible to apply for MBA program. Final selection is based on GD & PI conducted at the institute’s level.
- Application form can be filled online on payment of INR 700 (INR 350 for SC/ST/ PWD) by Credit/ Debit Card or through Net-Banking.

The university offers various Ph.D. programs in the School of Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management and Science. The minimum eligibility is a pass in Master’s degree in the relevant subject. The university will admit students under the categories of Full-Time, Part-Time, Sponsored and Project Fellows.
Admission is based on marks obtained in the written test followed by a Personal Interview. Final selection will be done considering the academic performance and overall performance in the Interview session. CSIR/ UGC JRF-NET qualified candidates need to appear only in the interview round.

Tezpur University M.Tech, MBA & MCA Admission 2020
MBA admission at Tezpur University will be conducted on the basis of the score obtained in CAT/MAT/ XAT/ ATMA/ GMAT or CMAT exams. Graduate degree holders in any specialization are eligible to apply. A final merit list will be prepared considering the performance of the candidates in qualifying degree, Entrance Test and Personal Interview.
M.Tech & MCA admission is based on marks in the entrance test conducted by Tezpur University. For M.Tech program, GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the university entrance.
